How Warm is It?
It’s really warm. Winters here at Burleigh and Kirra can get down to 18-19 degrees so it is not particularly cold but I have never been cold at all while wearing it.
Comfort / Flexibility and sizing?
Is very comfortable and super flexible.
I wear a large. i am about 6’1 and weigh about 70 kg.
What do you think of its construction quality?
It’s really good nothing is fraying or coming apart.
How has it held up over time?
It’s still basically in perfect condition, I have had it for about two years now and i probably go surfing once or twice a week in the winter.

How does it compare with any wetsuits you have used in the past?
Compared to other wetsuits it’s definitely a lot more flexible, I noticed a significant improvement over my previous Quiksilver.
Your thoughts on the price and value of the Rip Curl Flash Bomb?
I think the value you get for the price is definitely worth it. It is on the pricier side however it has lasted easily through 2 seasons without much sign of ageing. Warm, flexible and all round great wetsuit.
Final Thoughts and Rating
I would rate this suit as 9/10.
I would highly recommend the Rip Curl Flash Bomb 3/2 if you are looking for high quality suit that will go the distance over a few seasons with the performance factor that we have come to expect with modern wetsuits.

I purchased one from Surf Stitch and the stitching under the arm and down the side fell apart within 6 months. I sent it back to Surf Stitch and 5 weeks later it hasn’t been repaired and sent back.
For the price, you can buy 2 cheaper wetsuits and still have money left over.
Sure it’s warm, but what’s the point of paying that much for a wetsuit that falls apart?
My rating 4/10
Thanks for the comment Danny. Yeah I completely agree. That’s why so many people are raving about Needessentials as they’re great quality and fraction of the cost. There’s no reason why wetsuits shouldn’t last a couple of seasons.
