The Matuse Wetsuits women’s range, while not as extensive as the men’s offering has some mighty fine wetsuits to choose from.
Utilising Geoprene and the higher grade Geoflex materials, the range covers the full spectrum of fullsuits, spring suits and jackets/vests with a couple of beautifully styled suits which simply can’t be found in the world of men’s wetsuits.
Matuse Wetsuits have been making high-end wetsuits since 2006 and while they’re no longer the new kids on the block, they have retained their reputation for quality, durable and warm wetsuits.
Their point of difference has always been their limestone-based geoprene, which compared to standard petroleum based neoprene, is 30% warmer, 30% lighter, dries faster and ultimately last longer because less water is absorbed into the rubber.
Quality does, however, come at a price and a Matuse wetsuit does cost a pretty penny. On the plus side, you’ll be reaching for the suit for years to come.
This guide will review the women’s range of surfing wetsuits available from Matuse: The Artemis, d’Arc, One Piece, Jackets and Vests.

User Reviews:
PROS:
- Smooth-Skin look: With titanium coating on the chest and back, the suit is not only stylish, but also provides better insulation and wind protection.
- Thin Design: the wetsuit is ultra thin compared to other brands. This is due to its Geoflex strategic paneling. It is not bulky and provides flexibility when paddling.
- Water Resistance: With its hydra-suede nylon design, it allows the wetsuit to be silky and smooth with water resistant quality and flexibility.
- It has a long john component where you put on the vest first before arms. This provides stability and better fitting
- Once fitted on the body, the Matuse wetsuit can be worn the whole day.
- Stylish & flattering design
CONS/Things to note:
- Expensive compared to many other suits
- Because it is best to buy a very fitted Matuse wetsuit, it can be uncomfortable on first wearing.
- Also, fitting needs to be very well placed on every part of the body to have the best result and comfort.
- The internal vest section can be confusing to put on, especially when you forget that you need to put on the vest first.
- On the hands and legs, Matuse has extra water tiding design, therefore, please make sure you adjust the length of your suit from your under armpit/shoulder to elbow, and crotch to knee. (After a few surfing session, the material will glue on your body and will be very comfortable)
