What does Need Essentials Say?:
NeedESSENTIALS Womens 1.5mm Premium Front Zip Long Arm Spring
The needESSENTIALS premium 1.5mm Front Zip Long Arm Spring is designed for warmth, flexibility and durability. It has premium 4-way mega-stretch 1.5mm limestone based neoprene in the torso, legs and arms for ultimate flexibility. All seams are flatlock stitched for extra strength, function and durability.
Keep the sun off your arms, your body warm and your legs free to flex.
Key Features:
- Flatlocked seams
- Front Zip
- Premium 4 way stretch limestone based neoprene
- Tight wrist cuffs that fit my small wrists: Some women’s suits the wrist cuff are still too big but these fit perfectly.
- It is lightweight and provides good sun protection.
How Warm is It?
It’s warm enough to swim laps in the winter in the outdoor pools in Newcastle and great for surfing in the summer.
Over our summer months December – May water temps are warm approx 22C + / 71.6F+
Comfort / Flexibility and sizing?
It’s hard to get on but once it’s on it’s comfortable and flexible. The only thing that is somewhat uncomfortable is the zipper is pretty big and digs in a bit when paddling. I have a Size 4, which fits small – I am 158cm and 52kg
Below is the Need Essentials Women’s sizing charts in cm/kg: PLEASE NOTE, Need Essentials suggests if you’re on the higher size of the scale then it is recommended to choose next size up.

What do you think of its construction quality?
It’s well made. It’s a basic wetsuit with nothing too flash about it, but I like that.
How has it held up over time?
It’s stretched a little bit but mostly looks new after a year.
Your thoughts on the price and value
Great value for the price, I paid $120 (AU) for it.
Final Thoughts and Rating of the Need Essentials Women’s Spring Long Sleeve 1.5mm?
I would rate this suit as 9/10.
This is my first spring suit I’ve owned and I’ve really enjoyed have the option to wear something in between a steamer and swimmers.
